The world of Stratostria is built around a series of floating islands and continents, each with their own unique properties which resulted in the development of vastly different societies and ecosystems.
We spent the course developing a number of Simple-Stories and Side-Stories to play into a larger Super-Story spanning the entirety of the "franchise" and the history of this fantastical world. This included not only the development of a number of characters and artifacts, but also the creation of a bestiary, five organizations to serve as focuses across stories, and the development of 20 individual locations. We also established rules of the world regarding resources and magic, and made sure to account for each area under Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs. Additionally, we analyzed target audiences and competitors of the hypothetical franchise and crafted a franchise plan with target audience engagement and participation strategies.
