The image above is the result of my participation in the "Toon Me" trend amongst internet artists, in which an artist takes a photograph of themselves and draws over half of it as their artistic representation of themselves.
For this project, I utilized both Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. The linework, including the border wrapping around my face and dividing the two halves of the image, was all done using the Pen and Width tools in Adobe Illustrator. Meanwhile, the illustration, coloring, and background were all created in Photoshop.
One of my primary goals with this was to convey a feeling of "no brain, head empty" as best I could in order to add some personality. I would personally like to think that I was successful in this endeavor. The background was created through having the same gradient flipped and put on different layers, with a mask letting the other gradient show through a pattern of dots.
Quite honestly, while I know that it's best to present oneself in a more professional manner in certain situations, I would like to give people something to laugh at whenever I can. Oftentimes, the most available subject is myself.
